Did you keep your Tikka trigger at the factory setting?

I just got done fondeling & caressing my new T3 hunter, and while the manual said the trigger was factory pre-set @ 3# it felt a little heavier than that to me. Don't know for sure cuz I don't have a triggerpull weight gauge.

Anyhow, while the stock was off I backed the adjustment screw off 1 full rotation, and to my finger it feels like it is at at about 3# now and I really like the way it feels. Gonna keep it there til I get her to the range for the maiden voyage ;D

I lowered mine one full turn too.  I can't get over how good that factory trigger is.  After messing with the Tikka trigger, I'm planning to have an aftermarket trigger installed on my Ruger M77.   It made me realise how awful that Ruger trigger is.

Yeah klt I know what ya mean, I hadn't realized just how crappy some of my factory triggers were til I felt the Tikka.

Heck, one of my Marlin 336's was like a set trigger, I'd aim at a deer, squeeze the trigger bout 1/2 way, tweek my aiming point a little, then squeeze the rest of the way til the gun fired, actually got kinda used to it ::)

klt1986 ...

I put a Timney trigger on my .243 Ruger M77 Mark II about three years ago. I had it set on a 2.5lb pull and it is still right there. It made a world of difference and was well worth the money. I also purchased a  RCBS Premium Trigger Pull Scale at the same time and it was a good investment.

I adjusted mine down even lower. I like a light trigger. I don't have a way to measure but Mine feels like about 2lbs.

I didn't mess with mine. Perfect for me as it came - exactly 3 pounds. I try to have any guns I use for hunting set the same for consistency. By the way, you can adjust the trigger by removing the magazine and using the supplied allen wrench without removing the stock. Yes, those folks are bright over there - they have thought of everything (almost everything) :)

The triggers are excellent on these rifles, wish I had more than 2 of them  :-[

I turn mine as light as they will go and don't let buddies shoot them, unless expressly told....."it has a light trigger"!!!  I had to spend money to get my other rifles to have decent triggers. The Tikka's have spoiled me, trigger pull is a very crucial part of a rifle's accuracy.

Mine were actually fine when I got them from the factory, but I went ahead and lowered it to see how low it could go.  I think that I have most of my Tikkas set at about 2.5 to 3 lbs.
