I called John today at  Freedom Arms to ask him how my Model 83 22lr 7 1/2 bbl was coming along. He said it was on schedule and should be completed in about two weeks. He did say he was extremely busy with new orders  and that many customers were sending in their FA guns for retro fit for various upgrades.  Rod in Pa

Their website only shows Mod 83's in .22 with 10" barrels,did you have to order yours with a custom size barrel?

Bigmitty, Yes you can order a Model 83 field grade  22lr  with bbl lengths from 5 1/2 to 10 inches. Any bbl length other than 10" is an additional 73.00 premium. It also comes with regular open sights. I hope this helps. Rod in Pa.

Thanks Rod,Was just curious.I guess the Mod97 is more popular in.22.I'm waiting on a 252 Varmint(possibly tomorrow) with a 51/8 barrel,to go with the .22 Silhouette I bought last month.These FA's are nice although somewhat expensive.
