New Huntsman question
« on: March 17, 2007, 10:44:18 AM »
When my Huntsman comes back from it's trip to Gardner, I want to improve the sights.  Can I use the Williams Guide sight for the cetnerfire rifles and if so, what front ramp?  I can live with the plastic stock but don't like the plastic sights.  Again, thanks for the help.

Check down the page and a page or two back, there are a couple threads on sights. ;)

My Huntsman barrel came with a sturdy Williams Firesight set, made of aluminum. I find it to be entirely satisfactory. By swapping out just a few parts, I was able to make the Guide Open Sight base into a receiver sight. The mounting holes don't match up, so the base is attached to the chamber end of the barrel by one screw only, but the open sight base accepted the aperture windage and elevation slides from another Williams sight in my parts box with no trouble.

I think his are the ALL plastic ones that came on the 2002-03 Huntsmans. I had them on mine, but got a set of Williams Fire-Sights and a Williams WGRS from H&R/NEF.

gdog,

If you like the Williams Fire-Sights or WGRS sight, you can get them from H&R/NEF Customer Service far cheaper than any other place. I paid $18 for the WGRS and around $22 to $25 for the complete set of Fire-Sights back in '05. Tell them you are not satisfied with the plastic ones, they might cut you a deal on the metal ones.
