Which rings and base do you prefer?

Always used Leupold type base and rings.  Have one rifle with Conetrol.  What works best for you?  Rifle is a Mod 700 LV SF in 7mm-08.

If planning a high powered scope or a scope with a smallish range of adjment the windage adjustable turn in style mounts of any brand gt the nod. If light weight is the goal the old style weavers. If recoil is serious a steel weaver style or the double dovetail Redfield/Leupold/etc. is the way to go..

I used the QuadRiongs on my 50 caliber muzzle loader, a 150 charge with a 300 grain XTP, sabot covered, groups very well indeed.. I was forced to use the extension ring(just on 1) to get decent eye relief.. Good rings!

Yep, I love the weaver bases and the Quad rings.  About the only ones I'll use anymore.

Weaver style bases have worked great for me. One thing i've noticed with the quads is they leave some nasty indentations on the tube, where leupold and warne quick release rings have never left a mark. The narrow caps can be both a blessing and curse, plus they were out of round. Fine if you'll never take the scope out of the rings.

It surprises me that you've dented tubes with the Quad rings.   I've never had a problem at all.  In fact, they seem to leave the slightest ring marks out of anything I've tried.  One of the supposed advantages of the narrow aluminum tops is that they will conform to the tube better than steel ones.  Regular style weavers that have screws on just one side left the worst marks of anything I've used.
