see thru mounts

has anyone used see thru scope mounts for the 45/70 handi? if so which ones and how high? thanks for the help

See thru mounts IMO, are way too high, specially with a stock made for use with iron sights, which would be the only reason I could possibly want to use see thrus. Way back when scopes were less reliable than they are now, see-thrus were well liked, but I just don't see the need for them now. With the scope rail mounted, I can't even see the rear sight on my Hornet over the rail.

I use medium or high Burris Signature Zee rings almost exclusively, mediums on most, but some scope will require highs to clear the hammer.

my stepfather is giving me a leupold, and i dont know which one but it is a 3x9x40mm would i need the med or high mounts?

I just mounted a 3-9X40 VX-1 to my 308 bull barrel, used medium sig zees.

different rings manufacturers use different hieghts for thier low, medium, high, extra high designations but I agree with Quick, for a general answer the mediums should work fine....<><.... :)
