G2 Forend same as Encore?
« on: January 05, 2007, 04:50:46 PM »
As mine is on order and I don't have one to compare...how different are the two forends?  I'm finding a lot of custom forends for the Contender/G2...BUT have yet to find anything for the Encore that I like.  Sort of wondering how much work it'd be to get one to work.  OR, if you guys could link a place for encore forends I'd appreciate it..sorta what I'm going for is http://www.olegeorgiajim.com/JULES%20GRIP-3.jpg

The two forends are totally different. The hole spacing is different on both, as is the barrel channel as the barrels are different diameters. In addition the Encore Frame is wider than a Contender or G2 Contender Frame and the ears of the forend that fit back over the Frame are also different dimansions.

I just kind of went through this as I was going to try to modify / fit an older Rynite Super 16 Contender Forend to an Encore and gave up on the idea.

I e-mailed Georgia Jim as he has no price listings for Encore grips/Forends.  Just wondering about how much a set up will run me on average?  Are they the same price as the contender pieces?

Also his site says that stuff ships in 4-6 weeks on average..For those of you that have gotten stuff from him, is that true?
