Heat Treating Ovens
« on: July 13, 2006, 01:56:44 AM »
Does anyone know of companies other than Jantz and Sheffield that sell heat treating ovens?

I would like to check out all the options and prices prior to buying a new oven.

Thanks in advance,

HL

Trying to do a search on heat treating ovens gets complicated.  Lots of different types of ovens come up; mainly industrial.  Here are two links to distributors of  ovens, which are the ones advertised by the knife supply companies and in Blade.

http://www.paragonweb.com/

If you can find out another brand name and search on that, it'll be a lot easier.

Joel,

Do you have any dealings with Evenheat. I was wondering how they perform compared to the Paragon's.

Probably too late to answer this...sorry I missed it.  D'Holder does all my heat treating, although I'd like to eventually start doing it also....when I have the money.

I'm probably too late too, try jewelry tool suppliers look for "burn out" furnaces.  Not sure about controlled atmosphere but very precise temperature controls.
