Sights for Wesson Harrington Buffalo Classic
« on: December 07, 2006, 05:20:12 AM »
I have a Wesson Harrington Buffalo Classic in 45/70 and a target rifle in 38/55.  Neither came with sights.  I know that the rear sights on the current models are Williams and the front sights are Lyman 17, but I can find no information on the height of the front sight.  Can anyone give me that info?  Also, if anyone knows the best deal on these sights or similar, I would appreciate some direction.
Thanks

The BC comes with a .584" or .494"  tall front sight, the .494" would be the height I would work on, mine came with the .584" which was too tall, shot low with the WGRS at the top of the ramp. I use a .404" 17A sight on my .45-120 BC with the Williams FP sight, it hits 1½" high at 100yds with 405gr bullets at 1500fps with the FP sight at the bottom of its travel.  If you want to get those sights, H&R's prices are much better than most retail outlets, the WGRS sold for $18 and the FP $60 last year, their toll free number is in the FAQs and Help sticky.
