wannabe/newbe-where do i go
« on: December 22, 2006, 08:21:56 PM »
I am thinking about trying hog/wild pig hunting, since i live in maine i'd have to travel somewhere south of there ,friends of mine have gone to preserves in penn. in the past and i've heard both good and bad appparently at one place they actually got to stalk/hunt at another the guide wouldn't let them leave the blind and it was like hunting in a barnyard/zoo although I usually hunt w/a 30'06 i'd like to try using a six gun ethier a 45lc or a 44mag, so could anyone recommend a quality presevre within driving range of southern maine as I would like to go in march and would cooler the meat home in the back of my p/u thanks -tt

Tioga hunting preserve in PA is pretty good, for a non preserve hunt try Black River Plantation,

www.blackriverplantationsc.com

If you can shoot you will just about for sure bag one in 1 day at Tioga,at Blackriver book a 3 day hunt (same price except you cook your own food) and you have the potential to  shoot 2 a day.  I have been to both and prefer BR
