Reloading Books
« on: November 28, 2006, 05:53:17 PM »
I see Hornady got there new book out.I was wondering if anyone got to look thru it yet.I'm looking for a reloading book with the most 45-70 lever gun loads in it for my Handi. How many loads does Hornady have for the 405. I'm getting a Handi built like Quicks in the 405 Winny.Thanks,Dave.

The 6th edition only has 6 .405 loads for the FP, doesn't list the SP bullet, although I'm sure the data would be the same. The Hodgdon Annual has more data than that if you want it, and it's only $7 at Walmart!! It has 5 loads each for the 300gr Barnes XFB and 300gr Horn FP, plus 3 loads for the 400gr Woodleigh RNSN.

If you want the most .45-70 data for the least money, the Loadbook has all powder and bullet mfr data in one book for $7-$8!

One of the best load sites i have found is one that Ouickdtoo turned me onto , Ammo Guide Interactive , it has links to all the major power companys load data as well as over 11,000 loads for 509 cartridges .

Granted you should always check loads from the net aginst the powder companies data , but this site lets you do this .

It also has a ballistics calcuator and a way to compare ba;;istics between cartridges , plus much much more .

Not a bad deal for $15.00 a year .
