I know every rifle is different, even each individual rifle off the assembly line, but I'm curious as to how well can I expect this rifle to perform. 1.5 - 2" @ 100 yds is "acceptable" for me, but I would like dependable 1" gun. In that price range, I know the odds are slim, but I'm just trying to get something that'll put some venison in the freezer as cheaply as possible.
The combo I found was a Rossi Youth .243 win with a Barska 3-9x40mm scope. Looking through the scope it seemed pretty bright and clear. Servicable at very least.
Price on it was $219.00
Hoping that with some tricks picked up here that I can drive tacks with it, but just how accurate could a $200.00 gun be?? Post back and let me know if this is a pipe dream.
Oh and before anyone says pass on it and get a stevens.... I'd rather have a wood-stocked single shot than a toy plastic stocked bolt gun.
I've looked at Handi's and generally would rather have one, but the $60 difference around here is hard to justify to the wife. I don't have an FFL so buying a rifle on here is pretty much a no go unless Someone wants to sell a rifle for sub $150 to account for the FFL charges and shipping costs.
