I have heard and read many times that the mechanical fly better than the fixed in crossbows. When I get my Exocet, I am going to have to try both. Jack.

I've been shooting 125 gr., 4-blade Muzzy and they shoot straight and do the job. I might try the 100 gr. Muzzy this summer just as a comparison.

It's kind of fun to try different broadheads, sort of like trying different reloads in my rifle.

My local store had some compaints about poor functioning with mechanicals, but I'm not sure which one it was.

Well I've never had much luck with mechanials myself, but I did find a four bladed fixed blade in a Slick Trick, there was less than a 1/4 in. difference in th POI between these and field points.

I use the 4 blade 100gr. Muzzy 1" dia. they are accurate and does the deer a job! :grin:

I've been using the 125 gr. Muzzy and it is a quick kill. I am thinking of trying the 100 gr. just to see how they fly.

100gr Vortex mechanical for years, very effective...

I use what ever I have at hand as long as it is sharp and flys well to me that is all that matters. I shot 4 different broadheads out of my Excaliber Wolverine to see how they flew before season and they all shot well and close to the same inpact. Out of the 4 I have enough of two of them to use the same for my hunting arrows but it is nice to know the others will work as well. I do not have any mechanicals.

I used 125 grn Spitfires. I shot deer at every angel but head on, quartering toward, and the Texas heart shot. I never once had one break, glance off, or fail to open. I dropped a 200 lb 6 point in it's tracks with one. It tried to duck the shot and the spitfire went through the bone of both shoulders!

Slick Tricks are my first choice. I shoot the 100 gr. 1 & 1/8" and they fly true and bleed through.

I shot a nice, fat, 6-point yesterday with a Muzzy 4-blade 100 gr. He covered about 30 yards before he was dead. Used a Horton Hunter Supreme X-bow. This is the second buck with this X-bow using Muzzy and both deer have dropped fast.

I have used Muzzy 125 grain 4 bld. broadheads for years with excellent results. I just switched to Muzzy 100 grain 3 bld. broadheads because the 4 bld. Muzzys are hard to find. The Muzzys are reasonably priced compared to most others. I took an 8 point yesterday morning and the 3 bld. performed very well. It broke the front leg and went on through and into the heart.

I am using the 100 grain WASP Boss SST`s with great success in my Exocet. Flies very similar to my feild points. Jack.

I like the 100gr. Spitfire mechanicals. POI is only a little different from my field points. And the blood trail! I have taken two deer so far with this combo and both left blood trails that were no problem to follow.

I use rocket mechanicals by Rocket. The results speak for themselves...
