First I would like to say I'm new to the world of Handirifles,as I just bought a new sb2833.The first time I shot it,it shot better than my encore ever did.I am not a handiholic,I believe though,I'll buy a couple more just so the ultra varmint I just bought ,can mingle with it's own kind in my cabinet.I'm just being thoughtful.Was wondering what would be the best way to sight my rifle in.An inch and a half high at 100 yards?I am open to suggestions.Will use mostly for coyotin.Thanks for your input,I do appreciate it.

 Welcome to the wonderful world of Handi's, I see another Handi-holic coming.
 Depending on shooting condition is how I sight in a rifle. Quick will give you good info.

hello..i try to set my zero dead on @100 yard's...now let's say it's 75 degree's & i plan on hunting in 30 degree weather & don't think i could get to the range again...i will set it at 1'' high..p.o.i. will change with temperature..that should have a guy close ?? so yes you are on the right track...by the way at what range do you expect to shoot coyote's ?? called coyote's in my area are usually called into 100 yard's or less..that's why i prefer zero where i do...

Depending on the cartridge, the point blank system should be used.  This is for the average shooter.  That way your midpoint high is within an acceptiable range and you are still within that certin circle out to the maximum range for that cartridge.

But if you get into Long Range Shooting, it's a whole nother ball game.  And for Cayotes that can be easy to do.

TFM I hate break the news to ya, but you either ARE already a Handi-holic, or a latent one.

i would sight it dead on at two or three hundred, whichever you think would be more pertinent, and then spend time at the range and know how it shoots with the scope at the same zero at one two three and four hundred yards so you are prepared for all.  nothing compares with range time, especially for shooting coyotes and other varmints that can provide challenging shots.
