Subject line says it all - what if any is the difference between a Buff Classic and an H&R Model 1871?

Cheers

Kerry, is this a trick question??? ;D The Buffalo Classic is model number CR-1871, if that's whatcha mean, the only other rifle is the Talo Golden BC that I've ever seen, but maybe it's an older version possibly from the orginal H&R??

Tim, not a trick question... I saw a "H&R Model 1871" advertised for sale a few days ago for a pretty cheap price, and I wondered if it was an older model of the BC..? I didn't want to try to buy something that I wasn't clear about.

Unfortunately, while attending a seminar in Seattle this week, which included an unplanned visit to a hospital due to chest pains I was not in any position to continue with my research into the subject ... :(

And now, after my short, but interesting visit to the above mentioned hospital, the good news is I will live, though with a somewhat changed lifestyle, the bad news is no new toys in the budget for a while. :'(

Cheers
Kerry

P.S. I believe the gun sold for around $265 while I was indisposed!

Kerry, hope your health issue is not a serious one, that can be real scary. I spent the night of the Atlanta bombing in the hospital ICU due to chest pains, they never determined what it was, but they know it wasn't heart related, so I know how you felt.

Too bad ya missed out on the rifle, it was probably a BC since that is the model number, and $265 is a good price if it was in good shape.

Take care,

Tim

Thanks Andy and Tim for the kind words. The time in the hospital did not result in any definitive statements about my heart health, other than I did not have a heart attack that day.

I did however get a firm diagnosis of diabetes... and that will change my eating (random and excessive) and exercising habits (none) rather dramatically from now on.

Strangely enough I feel a certain relief in knowing what was wrong in my body and it has helped me focus on getting fit again.

I made a vow last month to get back in shape and take my son (now 11) hunting next year, and though I really did mean it when I made it, this experience certainly got my attention enough for me to acutally act on my vow!

Thanks again guys for your thoughts.

Cheers

Shane,
It was advertised as a 45-70 and the picture showed the long barrel, receiver sight, and hooded front sight so I think it wasn't a shotgun... anyway it got scooped up by somebody while I was otherwise occupied  ;)

Thanks for the kind words. I'm actually feeling pretty well OK, just gotta change my eating and exercising habits - which (as Martha Stewart would say) "...is a good thing."

Cheers
