.500 S+W W/Muzzle Break
« on: October 29, 2006, 01:10:16 PM »
I've been thinking of working on a .500 S+W. Maybe shorten the barrel a bit, set it into a Gunstock Inc. straight comb pistol grip stock, and I've been looking at the possibility of adding a muzzle break to help tame the recoil. As luck would have it, I stumbled onto just the thing. The picture below is a muzzle break fitted to a .500 S+W Handi. The gunsmith will cut the barrel, thread it, and add his muzzle break all for $100.00!
Any thoughts or comments?
Thanks,
Don

Check out      http://www.precisionrifleworks.net/index.html         I think he will add a break for $50.

That's the same gunsmith! He'll do the break for $50, add on the cost of cutting the barrel down, recrowning, and return shipping, and it comes up to $100. I think I'd have him drill and tap the barrel for front sights also, that's another $30.
