« on: September 15, 2006, 04:57:08 AM »
I saw a fella with some at the end of last year!
Who makes them? Box was tan with .12 Ga. (.690) RB
on the side. Shells were Black (or Dark Blue)

I haven't seen them commercially for 40 years. I handload the .690 Roundball and some other unusual  loads, but I didn't know anybody still offered them.

I have no Idea how old they could have been?
Could have been some of the old ones..
They seemed to shoot well though..

I bought the Lee .690 round ball mould and made some myself. I loaded them to trap load velocities and used them to determine point of impact for a few of my shotguns. They are so small they seem to shoot better with some choke. I think with a cylinder tube they rattle down the barrel, but with some choke they exit closer to the center line of the bore. Any ways, that's just my theory.

They shoot well, and would probably be good deer killers within buckshot ranges, but I don't hunt with them.
