Why haven't I heard about this?
'Was in the gun store for reloading components and saw this in the rack.
Beautiful!  Case colored frame, checkered wood, carbine configuration, $1100!
'Didn't notice the makers name, but it looked Italian.
'Told the salesman that the "cowboys" would go nuts over this!

We have a couple at our club.  Very particular on ammo and you have to cycle it very hard/fast.

Also there is the price.

But then I've got 3 shotguns with one on order so whatever floats your boat...

There are several out there. AWA has had one out for a while. The first ones were kinda iffy, but the current AWA USA company is making them right, and repairing the earlier ones from AWA International. In addition, Berreta is coming out with one, USFA has one out, and Taurus is coming out with a low-cost one in the fourth quarter. All but the Taurus are in the $1000 + range. The Taurus is going to sell for $500.

TM7 where did those shooters get the "Thunderbolts"?  According to Taurus, none have been sold and there's only one in the US for "evaluation" by some gunwrighters.

Give me your local gunshops number my e-mail is pocketpistol@yahoo.com  Several distributors have cataloged them for months, they don't have them.  As of yesterday afternoon, my dealer called 3 distributors, and Taurus USA, they all say they are not available yet. If your dealer can get me one, I'll pay a priemum for it.

That doesn't help at all.  Notice it was for "pre-orders" for 3rd quarter delivery.  3rd quarter ended 30 days ago and those rifles are still not available.  Tell your dealer that if he will call his distributor and get immediate delivery of a thunderbolt I'll take, I mean ship as soon as the call is over, not next month or next quarter.

They were designed/made specifically for CAS.  They introduced them at the 2004 SHOT show, and have been promising them ever since.  Externely they look like Colts Lightenings but the internals have been totally redesigned.  Can't answer as to what kind of loads they will take but IIRC the origionals were chambered for some pretty stout loads.

This topic is close to my heart as I am seriously looking at the Taurus and the Beretta pumps in .45LC.

If anyone has first-hand experience with either or both of these little rifles, I'd appreciate hearing from him/her.

There are several discussions on the T-bolt on the various CAS forums.  Mine didn't work, had to send it back to Taurus, as have several other owners.  Try www.sassnet.com and do a forum search for Taurus Thunderbolt.

I have a Uberti, you have to cycle it hard.  shoots well and if 8.2gr Unique and a 250 RNFP is a stiff load, then it handles them just fine.
