Model 7 Blind Bottom
« on: August 08, 2006, 04:24:47 PM »
Hi all,

Im considering putting my Model 7 into a Bansers High Tech blind bottom stock. My question is where does the front screw of the ADL trigger guard go? Does it screw into the stock as I cant see a hole in the acton for it - in fact there is no room for it with the front of the guard being situated in the magazine well.

Better off staying with a BDL setup?

Cheers...

Jeez your a shocking fiddler Guil  ;D The factory stock is a bit short (easily fixed) but otherwise its rough enough. I hope you didn't sell that beautiful swissarms 6.5?  :o

Hey there matey - I had a total nightmare! My cash flow has dried up with no teaching this semester. I had a total scope death with my ole trusty (not so trusty now) scope and was faced with the prospect of a very expensive rifle with no optics apart from a few rubbishy  4x32's I have lying around. Went and saw Howard at centrefire and traded the Swiss Bitch in on a basically brand new model 7 and leupold 2-7x28 and a few dollars. Sold the Leupold as it was an older compact model that had a terrible eye-box on it and got a brand new weaver v3 1-3x20 which is actually pretty nice and will make a good little bush scope. So Im back where I started after having about 5 diffferent rifles over the last few years. Its in 7mm-08 not .260 though. Just got to get a new bolt shroud and pin kit to get rid of that horrible j-lock and I am considering a new stock sometime in the future although I have already fully bedded the factory number. We should meet for a coffee sometime soon - Im onto a few interesting things over fiordland way I want to fill you in about.

Cheers......

Sounds good, only mod I made to mine was to fit a tubbs speedlock kit in a failed attempt to fix a 1 in 25 click no bang dimpled primer syndrome (took a headspace adjustment to fix it). Don't have your email addy at the moment as my work computer is getting upgraded, so send me an email.
