Mine has about 500 rounds thru it and it keeps getting better. I use only Hornady ammo, tried the others with little luck. On calm evenings, no wind, I can get 1" groups at 100 yards. I use my .17 for turtle thumping.

I beleive it is the most accurate rifle I own. You wouldn't be sorry.

The wife gave me mine for my birthday last March.  I've got about 300 rounds through it.  I bought the BSA Sweet 17 for it.  Yesterday at the range after shooting the big stuff, I got out the Sportster .17HMR.  When we went out to the 300 yard line to get our targets I tossed some empty plastic soda bottles, and clay targets up on the hill backstop.  It is 337 yards to the hill.  Just for giggles and the heck of it we shot at the bottles.  Even tho the scope is only calibrated to 300 yards, I figured what the heck I'll try it anyway.  First round was really low, second round was close, third round was a hit.  Using the area of the crosshirs where the post gets larger as my focal point I could hit the target almost everytime.  I sat there and spent two hours shooting at bottles and clay targets on the hill.  This was lots of fun, and good practice.  Guys would come over and watch what I was doing, some would want to try.  After a few shots they would start hitting the targets also.  It's nice to shoot and to be able to watch the bullet strike in the dust.  To see exactually where you are hitting with the scope.  And see a plastic bottle jump.  Several people asked me where I got my gun, and was real interested in it.  A few brought their kids over to shoot it.  I think I sold a few guns yesterday for the local gun dealers.  Several people said they had to have one.  They were surprised that a little gun that small could shoot so far accurately.  They can't hit that good with their hunting rifles. I normally shoot Hornady ammo, but yesterday I was wanting to get rid of the odd stuff so I was shooting up a couple of boxes of Federal ammo with the TNT bullets.  And I did not think they were that accurate to start with, was I surprised..

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
