I would like to buy a Horton Crossbow. What is the lowest price and model that I can expect to kill deer with? Would you recommend the 150 pounders? I am retired and would like to get out as cheap as I can and still be satisfied with the bow.
Suggestions please......

Nothing wrong with Hortons they make a great xbow and you can get a beginner 150 pound package for around 300 bucks. My buddy bought one only he upgraded to the 500 dollar package it shoots wel as he figured the beginner Horton was not to his liking he likes the one he bought though. If you want a recurve I would suggest a Excaliber Vixen they are about 360 bucks average but that is the bare crossbow if you want accessories you have to pay more so you would be in the 550 to 575 dollar range still not bad for a quality xbow. I like the Excalibers because you can string them your self with the aid of the stringer ( Comes in the package ) and then you can take them down too when your not using them. You could buy a Excaliber Vixen and the scope package for a little more than what you would pay for the upgraded Horton and have a really nice set up. No matter what you decide the Hortons are nice too. I myself after shooting both still like the Excaliber. If you can find a shop around you that has both try them and see what you think most archery shops have a range you can shoot at before you buy.
