In this month's American Rifleman there is a great article on the "necessity" of a custom gun. It talks about why a person might want one and the advantages of a custom over an "off-the-shelf" rifle from the mass producers of fine arms. It's a good read! if you don't get the mag you should join the NRA and sign up for the rifleman.
