527 Varmit Questions
« on: October 29, 2005, 03:31:02 AM »
Can someone please tell me;
(1) Does the varmit have a heavy barrell, or is is just 2in. longer than the American? The CZ web site only specifies HB on the Varmit Laminate.
(2) Are the 22 calibers (223rem, 222rem, 221fireball) .223 or .224 dia.?

Thanks, Charlie

Charlie--
I have a 527 Varmint Kevlar in .204.  The barrel can best be described as medium-heavy.  It is not the typical varmint barrel profile.
I believe that the calibers you listed are all .224.  The CZ 527 22 Hornet is  .223 diameter.
Hope that helps.
Mike

Smike308, my CZ527 in .22 Hornet is in .224. I went home and read the spec.'s again to be sure. Tryit.

tryit--
I was just passing on the information that I obtained from Mike Eagleshield, the head factory gunsmith, at CZ-USA.  I guess someone is just going to have to slug their bore to clear this up.  Where did you see the bore specs?
Thanks--
Mike

I have shot both and have seen no difference in groups or velocities.  I have looked and can find no CZ data that tells us what the bore id on the Hornet.
Just another voice in the crowd!!!
