Partitions How old
« on: March 14, 2007, 06:54:12 AM »
I bought a box of Federal Premium in a gold box 7mm-08 Nosler Partiion 140g yesterday.

The price was only $15.99 and the lady said they had been there a while.
I got them thinking they were pretty cheap.
When I got to the truck I noticed that they were partitions and not plain soft point.
Every where I have looked lists new ones for $30+.

How can I tell How old they are and is it OK to shoot them?

They aren't that old (no more than 10 years). You don't have to worry about shooting them. You won't get anymore for $15.99 though. :)

Thank you
No I have not found any more for less than twice that much.
I bought them because they were cheap to sight in my rifle.
I guess I need to find something else for that.

The component bullets are $24 per 50

So you bought 40 loaded rounds for $30

That's a pretty good deal.

I would save them for something special and not for target practice or hunting deer.

I have shells that are Government issue, 1906 30' Government.

I will guarentee you that they will shoot every bit as good as the day they were made.

Shells don't go bad as long as you keep them clean and dry.
