Should you find one be aware they have barrels that measure only .223" not the more normal for .22s measurement of .224". That means that you don't even want to approach book max loads listed for .224" bullets. I found this out the hard way. A call to Browning confirmed the barrels are for .223" bullets.

WOW!!!! THANK YOU!! That bit of information probably saved my bacon (if and when I find one). I have tons of .224 bullets and is one of the reasons for wanting that critter.

Greybeard, What bullets and load are your using?? I picked up some 45 gr .223 and some 40 gr .224 bullets, 4198 powder. The cases and dies should be here on Monday.

I have the rifle in hand today with a set of bases and rings. I have an extra Leupold 3X9 scope to put on it.

I really never shot mine enough to work up loads. I do know that some factory ammo was too hot for it and for sure some reloads that worked fine in other guns with .224" barrels blew primers in mine. I decided to get rid of it. I actually bought it to convert to a .25-20 but just never got around to the project.

DO NOT use max book loads with .224" bullets, drop back at least one grain as your max. Book loads using .223" bullets should be OK.
