Years ago, I shot a K-31 (.32 Long S & W). Wonder about availability/cost now? Am interested in purchasing. Thanks.

S&W K-31 ?

Hello
I believe the model you indicated in your Post is wrong as to the frame size. S&W produced a Model 31 & a model 30 but it was in a smaller frame than the K-frame, Which is a medium frame revolver and the Model 31 is a smaller -J-frame, with fixed sights. This revolver was chambered in .32 S&W Long caliber, and they were more common, than a K-32 and most came in a 4" barrel. The K-32 was a K-frame medium sized revolver, and they are a Masterpiece series Target revolver that fired the .32 S&W Long caliber as well, and came with adjustable sights. This model was rare and little over 3,000 of them made. Average price on a decent-J-frame Model 31 or 30 is $250.00 and prices for a K-32 revolver range from 1500.00-3000.00 if one can locate one. I hope this helps, hammerdown

Hammerdown - Thanks for the information! My memory for model numbers from 40+ years ago, is not so good! The revolver I'm remembering didn't have adjustable sights. Sounds like it was a Model 30 or 31. Again, thanks, $250.00 is more in line with my current gun budget.

Still looking.

Buck65, Try Gunbroker.com, or GunsAmerica.com,  They both have AlOT of Smiths for sale.  Be very careful as to the condition and clarity of the pictures they give you.  I did get burned once, which was my fault, I should have known a 5 screw K-22 shouldn't have been that cheap!  I have however bought 2 or 3 others and have been very happy.  When bidding or buying remember to add the shipping and local FFL dealer fees to the price.  This usually adds 40-50 dollars.  If you can't find one in a gun shop, it may be a good place to try.  One of the guns was I believe a pre mod. 30? in .38 S&W, basically the same gun you want, and was a nice one for 250$  Hope you find one!
