A Prewar .22 Revolver oddity from Iver Johnson
« on: September 22, 2006, 04:25:36 AM »
Hello
Nice section added Graybeard. ;) I recently picked up a Prewar Iver Johnson made in 1930. This is the only revolver I own other than S&Ws so I was a little leary to purchase it, but decided to take a chance. I took this to the range yesterday, and was surprised to see how accurate it really is.This revolver is called The Super Sealed Eight. It is capible of firing 8 rounds of .22 ammo, and has a recessed cylinder to emcompass the ammo. It has an adjustable finger rest behind the trigger, along with an adjustable trigger stop. The main spring is of coil type that is fully adjustable as well to suite the shoote. with five adjustments. The grips are one piece, and show excellent Burl Grain definition. The range results were not as tight as a S&W first model K-22 I have made in 1936 but respectible, and I found it was a better grouping revolver than I could hold due to its lighter weight. This revolver was made for serious sillouette shooters and after the war, they discontinued the finger rest and adjustable sights. Regards, Hammerdown.
