M&P 32-20
« on: September 14, 2006, 09:37:44 AM »
I was informed that there is available a S&W model M&P in 32-20 at a local shop.  This revolver supposedly has a 6" octagon barrel.  The asking price is $375.  Now while I don't really need another revolver, I am a fan of the 32-20 and would like to know if indeed S&W did make such a revolver with a 6" octagon barrel in this caliber.  Could this have been a 'custom' order?  The grips have been replaced and it may have been re-blued also, both of which detract from the value.  Those are secondary right now, the primary being, was this revolver made as-is or was the barrel replaced at one time too?

Any information would be appreciated.

Just saw your post re: M&P 32-20.  I have two of them.  Both 5",  To the best of my knowledge and research S&W has never done an octagon barrel on a M&P model.  All that means is if the price is right you could have a unique looking revolver.  I have tried in the past to locate a barrel for one of mine with no luck.  Even the fellows who reline barrels couldn't help me.

Good luck

Thank you for your reply/info.  My neighbor, who knows of my interest in the 32-20, keeps feeding me leads.  I think with the intent of forcing me into a cash flow situation and as a result selling him the '03 Springfield in my possession.  May have to take a ride and look at this revolver after work tomorrow.

My wife's grandfather has one in 32-20 (an M&P) but no octagon barrel.
Never seen one of those?

I personally have never heard of Smith making a pistol with an octagon barrel but. don't count on my knowledge. Where's the pictures?
