I finally got my .35 Whelen up and running (Sav. 114 w/ A&B bbl). For the first several trips to the range I shot pointed soft points of various sorts, either factory or handloads.
This kept me occupied while waiting for my 280 grain paper-patched mold to come in. When the mold finally arrived and I got the chance to test drive them I found a problem. The flat point of the bullets catches on the breach of the barrel when fed from a full magazine. Strangely, the very last round from the magazine feeds just fine.
About the same time my mold arrived, I got some 200 grain jacketed roundnose and they do the same thing.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I fixed it! Said a quick prayer asking for some ideas. Then just used a channel-lock pliers and took off the magazine. Then using same tool bent the fore-most inch of the lips upward just a bit. Smoothed off any burs caused by the plier teeth. Replaced magazine. And now it feeds my flatpoints like a charm.
