Two more Savages...well Stevens actually
« on: January 19, 2006, 04:20:44 PM »
Picked up an excellent Savage Stevens model 67E 20 gauge with raised rib and choke tube (full) for $75.  And I just had to try a Stevens model 200 in 22-250.  I'm going to mount a Bushnell Elite 3200 Firefly 3x9-40 and use it as my "walkin' around" gun at the farm.  At 6.5 pounds without scope it's not too heavy for that duty.  It'll be March before range testing begins.  I'll send in word on how that goes, I've read sooo many good things - I can't wait!!!
I aim to please - but often miss.

The Mid-Michigan weather has FINALLY got to where it won't freeze ya to go out and do a little bench shooting.  I taking it out tomorrow afternoon along with ANOTHER Savage I'll be picking up in the morning.  A 93R17 FSS.  NIB but not Accu-trigger, and a regular trigger is fine with me.  I'll post the results, should be a fun day.

The 22-250 went right at .75" for 3, 5 shot groups. And the 17HMR went just under 1" for 5, 5 shot groups.  All shooting at 100 yards.  These are two very good guns.
