Cool stuff. Any idea of how old those etchings are or who made them?

:D I have been a rock hound, as well as a hunter and fisherman for more years than I care to remember.  Over the years I have run across "rock art" in several places.  Some of the drawings are well over 500 years old, yet some of the modern day "outdoorsmen" (pukes) destroy many of them by attempting to leave their mark, name, etc. at the site.  A friend and myself recently found some rock art on private property in the Big Bend area.  We told the land owner, he was born and raised on the ranch and never knew that it was on his property.  By telling him, action will be taken to preserve the drawings and prevent their damage.

Along the Rio Grande, west of Del Rio there are several places that have beautiful drawings, some puke with a spray can of paint covered a large number of them. I hope I never catch one of those that elect to destroy rock art.

Amazing stuff, thank you for posting the pix BeanMan.

Kind of like what we are doing now with the Internet, sharing our stories and hunts with others. Only they were doing it hundreds if not thousands of years ago.

Wonder which will last longer, our posts here in CyberSpace or those rock art "posts".

Those are some wonderful photos of the Petroglyphs. There are quite a few some two miles from my house that have been dated at 6,000 years plus. I know at some North American sites the glyphs have been dated to 16,000 years.

Thanks for sharing the pics.
