Check out Bud's Guns for the best 7mm-08 value around.  Just got one of these.  Came to a little over $600.00 with shipping.  Cost me 3% more cause I used a credit card.  There aren't a lot of these around.

Nothing like a new toy that everybody else doesn't have.   What are your plans with it?    Let us know how she shoots!

Looks good.  I got my 7m-08 in a Browning Stainless Stalker.  If your Rem shoots you got a great go to rifle.

I'm picking up my LVSF on Saturday.  I really like the LVSF platform and if the .223s weren't $700-ish now, I'd probably jump on one of those two.

Well I picked up my 700 CDL today in 7MM 08...I was very impressed! This is a very nice rifle. I paid 609$ out the door.
Longwinters and I gave it the good going over...He thought it was one of the nicest Rems he had ever seen.

The trigger came in at over 8 lbs so off to the Gunsmith tomorrow...not that it is not fixable...I like a 40 oz trigger and will put a new one in. I do a lot of BR shooting.

Range report possibly by Sunday...if we dont get more snow!

Check out Bud's for Savages.  If you have not used one with an accutrigger you are in for a real surprise.  If you have not shot one yet, that includes the Stevens 200, off a bench you are in for the shock of your life!  I have never seen a factory rifle shoot standard ammo like these guys do.  I wish Remington would put out their firearms with the same pride.  Lord knows they charge enough. It's pretty bad to be out shot by a rifle 1/3 the price. Check out the gas escape holes too.  Savage has two big ones.

Savage rifles are by far the best bang for the dollar spent.  Years ago I bought what was intended to be my last deer rifle, a Browning Stainless Stalker 7mm Mag w/BOSS.  I am very satisfied with its performance and accuracy.  Old age, Auto accidents and arthritis made me start looking for something lighter to lug around while hunting.  I couldn't afford another Browning so I took a chance on a Savage stainless .308.  Much to my surprise, it will shoot Federal Premium 150 grain loads under 3/4" at 100 yards, right from the box.  A buddy bought their bargain priced Stevens rifle, it shoots just under 1 1/2 inches with bargain priced Federal Power Shok loads, darn good for a rifle costing under $275!

The Remington design doesn't need gas escape holes in the receiver ring. The one that's there is at the insistance of the marketing department. The 788 never had one.
