I've called them a few times to replace a rear baffle that hadn't been blued evenly, to get the correct bolt handle for a varmint model, for spare parts and for some specific technical information. It was a painless experience with no issues or problems and the items/info were sent within normal delivery times. You will need the serial number and have your manual handy to insure you are talking the same part numbers and descriptions. In addition, some parts are "restricted" to dealers and/or distibutors - bolts, boltheads, trigger parts and springs and such.
The customer service people are knowledgable about the product line considering that they are "first contact" types. If you have a technical question or problem, there are "technical" customer service people available although it take a reschedule to hook up with them.
I've heard but have no 1st hand experience from others that had problems with stripped action screw threads and misaligned scope mount drillings and such manufacturing mistakes and Savage replaced the receiver and refunded shipping after sending to them for inspection.
All in all - as good as any, better than some.
