Coyote Hunting
« on: February 11, 2006, 12:47:17 PM »
last saturday I took the boy child of mine out to call those filthy coyotes. He has been with me many times,But only to watch and learn. He won a shot gun (20ga. single shot) at the friends of the NRA banquetlast year, and I have taken him out to shoot it and learn about it.So I let him take the shot gun with him( he also just passed the hunter ed which you have to have here to shoot a gun in the field at game.)I bought several box's of 3"magnum #3buckshot for him.
our 1st set with in 2 minutes of callin brought a small coyotye running in.I stopped the dog right in front of him and said there he is blast him.as he brought the shot gun up slowly.and cocked the hammer back the ole dog caught the movement and was stairin right at him,he let loose and the whole load seemed to hit him right in the head.down he went.I said hurry and put another shell in and started callin, here comes another filthy coyote runnin in.I started squeakin and he stopped and was a little far out and behind some bushes,so I squeaked and told him wait till he comes from behind the bush and blast him.the dog walked slowly to the rodent squeak and blame.poor hit but 1st blood, pop had to let the ole H&K scream with a load of 3" #4buck sent that coyote to the ground then another came runnin through the set while this was taken place.3 shots at him from the H&K and he was down.we took a bunch of good photos of the 1st dog my son shot I will have it blown up and framed for him.we are going in the a.m. and I am going to let him take his custom 7mm-08 that I got for him for passing his hunter ed.every days a good day when yer huntin them filthy coyotes.
my huntin rifle is safe from confiscation only while my battle rifle protects it.
