Scope rings on CZ 527
« on: January 01, 2006, 08:33:09 AM »
Members of the CZ forum, I have a chance to upgrade the scope on my rifle CZ527, .22 Hornet. The intended scope is the Nikon 6-24x50 with AO. I would like to use the rings that came with the rifle. Will the 50mm scope with AO fit on my rifle? I like the rings supplied with the rifle. Thank ya'll and I hope everyone has had a Happy Christmas and a very Merry New Year. Tryit.

I doubt that it will fit. My 40mm objective just barely clears so I can't see the 50 clearing at all. I could be wrong about that though.

Don't know if you've answered your question yet, but I've got a burris sig select on mine I think it has a 42mm objective.  I have a set of millet medium height rings and there is plenty of room left.  I imagine a set of high rings would work if the mediums don't

I have the standard CZ rings on my CZ 527. It wears a 6.5x20x50 Simmons Whitetail Classic, but be warned, putting a large scope on a petite little rifle like that makes it look like you mounted a television set on top of your rifle. My CZ 527 began life as a CZ 527 Lux. I took off the front sight completely, including the ramp and used a filler screw to cover the hole. With the rear sight, I had to drift the dovetail out with a pen. The very end of the scope's objective lens just barely misses the rear sight housing with the objective lens dialed all the way out for paralax. I glassbedded the stock and refinished it. The rifle shot like ballsafire when I took my time. However, with the hogback butt on the stock, I had to hunt around to find the proper cheek weld to see the scope adequately. I said the hell with it and bought one of CZ's aftermarket Fancy Grade American Walnut stocks and glassbedded the action area. I do that as a matter of routine with rifles, primarily cause I like to putz around with the rifle. Now, the American model does not have iron sights, so it should fit better. But with my altered Lux, and the American style stock, I have no problem now finding the scope and it just looks damn good to  boot. A long answer to a short question ... yes, it will fit with the regular CZ rings. Tom Purdom
