Baretta Extrema 2
« on: March 29, 2007, 04:46:08 PM »
Anybody have any experience with the Baretta Extrema 2? I was thinking about buying the 3 1/2" version for goose hunting. Never seen one in the field so am not too familiar with them but did see a video that made it look pretty impressive.
Perception is everything. For instance, a crowded elevator smells different to a midget.

I purchased a Baretta Extrema 2 during this past hunting season. You need to handle the gun and if you are like me you will probably be sold. It just seemed to fit me better than anything I had been shooting. The dimensions on the gun  appear to be larger than other guns I have handled. Also, even though it dimensions seemed larger the gun did not have a bulky feeling. As an example, it is setting next to a Remington 11-87 Super Mag with a 28 inch barrel the Baretta also has a 28 inch barrel, but is at least 2 inches longer than the Remington. Before hunting with it, I test fired a number of different loads from heavy 3 1/2 inch to light sporting clay loads. The gun performed great with no problems and cycled all of the ammunition I put through it. Our hunting season was almost over when I purchased it, but I was able to use it on one goose hunt and a 3 day hunt in Arkansas. So far I am very happy with the purchase.
