Repairing a siamese mauser extractor
« on: March 24, 2006, 07:15:03 PM »
I recently bought a siamese mauser converted to 45-70.  After getting it home I noticed it had really weak ejection and the cause was a poorly fitting extractor.

The hook appears to have been ground on both sides of the hook.  It also has enough play to allow an empty case to fall off of the bolt face.

After scouring the internet for several days, I have found only one replacement for about $100.

Is it possible to repair it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

oso45-70, thanks for the quick response.

Well, I thought I was posting in the gunsmithing forum.  Definately past my bed time.

Zachary, can you move the whole thread, or should I re-post?
