S&B Buckshot Experiences
« on: December 20, 2005, 06:16:20 PM »
I was curious about what you folks thought of their buckshot ammo.  I've read varying reports, mostly complaints about unclean burning, foul burnt odors when fired, as well as considerable leading due to the lack of a shot cup in their loading process.  It is highly likely, in part to the last fact stated, that the pellets may be deformed to such a point patterns can suffer.

What say ye about their loads?  I've got some of this stuff on order, so I'm hoping there is at least something good that can be said about them.

When the time comes to buy some more ammo, I'll likely look to a different manufacturer; taken into consideration with what facts that I have read so far about S&B.

Thanks.

Patriot,
That 'lack' of a shotcup, is what has always discouraged me from buying their buckshot, I suspected lead fouling would be severe, and there aren't enough buckshot pellets on a load to have a few lose enough lead on the barrel on the way out to not fly true. I stick with Winchester on buckshot, always had excellent results.
Sincerely,
