The Legend of the Greenock Swamp
« on: December 15, 2005, 05:11:07 AM »
Here in Greenock Township (Ontario) there is a wierd legend. They say that a strange hermit lives in the dense brush of the swamp. He has been sighted by many people, including my own grandfather. The first time he was seen it was by a deer hunter. He said he was sitting in his tree stand, when suddenly a naked man with long grey hair and beard came running out of the brush. He screamed and jumped around a bit, and then ran back in. My grandpa saw him one night while driving through the swamp. I don't know whether to believe it, knowing the habit of story-telling among the deer hunters of this area and the growing wierdness of my grandfather, but so many people have seen the "naked man" that it seems it must be true.
