Stevens 200 score
« on: November 25, 2005, 06:00:47 AM »
Sunday morning my Stevens 200 barked and i took a nice 140lb whitetail doe at 125 yards.30.06 165 gr psp-double lung shot. This is the rifle i reported a few months ago that i got with a simmons 3x9x40 scope ,all for $239 at Dick's Sporting Goods.I had me some nice digital pics but the little woman accidentally erased them while transferring them to the computer-yea,i was a little miffed...oh well.It shoots like a dream and gets the job done.I'm very pleased with this bargain rifle.

Shooter,
Great job, and congratulations!
I've been thinking of the 200 lately, as well. Was that a sale price or regular? The wanted $269 around here to order just the rifle.

I paid $269 for my 7-08 and 25-06 when they first came out. Will be using the 25-06 for my Kansas deer hunting next month.

maryland,
they made a mistake,it was $269 without scope, they had a package and offered it at non-package price.I caught them and put it on lay-a-way.While on l-a-w they reduced the price to $239.

Would the doe be any deader if you'ld have shot it with a $1000 rifle?

No doubt about it, those rifles are shooters at a great price..........take notes, Remington, Winchester, and Ruger...........Savage is taking your business!  You better improve quality and lower prices!

Shooter,
Sweet deal. I had a similar thing happen when I ordered my Howa 6.5 .
The shop had ordered the scoped package, but I had asked for just the gun. They gave it to me for the gun only price.

I had my Gsmith rework the trigger to give me a clean 2 3/4# break over and my 7MM 08 shoots 140 NABs into 0.340" behind 41 grs of RE 15.
The Stevens 200s are truly amazing!
I paid 263$ after taxes.....
