has anybody had a model 30-1 S&W 32 long

I was wondering if paying 300 for a nickel one in excellent conditon would be worth it or not. help appreciated

I have a pre-model 30 (made before 1957).  As well as several I frame 32 hand ejectors.    The most I paid was for the pre-30, cost me 225, and was in excellent condition.  

The SCSW lists the 30-1 as made from 1961 to 1976 and is worth 250 in excellent condition.  This book was published in 2001 and is a little low on some of the prices.  I do not believe that 300 is excessive, especially if it includes the original box.

The -1 is when J frame production began, previously it was built on an I frame.

I have a 4 1/4" Regulation Police in 32 long. It is a great little shooter. I collect the big N frames but once in a while I enjoy shooting this little gem. I load for it, as well as the 32 H&R. I see that Smith is making a 5" Chief special, if they chamber it in 32 I will buy one. $300 for one in very good condition, 90% pluss seems reasonable. If it is what you like, buy it and enjoy. I've got a 3" bbl third model hand ejector (just post WWII) in pretty good shape that I paid $248.00 for a few years back.  They are a sweet little revolver to shoot and would buy more of them if I could find them.

I have a couple of these. One is a 4" er shooter, It was a bit rough when it came my way so I stripped the blue, and had it redone in a matt blue, nice little gun for what it is. A flat latch, as is the little snubbie I have. Now this one, if I had the box, you would swear it was NIB. Just never fired it. I have dies, and bullets, but haven't found the time to reload for them. Yet.

I realize all prices are regional but around here you'd never find one in that condition that cheap. If you think it's what you want I'd jump on it before it's gone.
