22 LR Match Carbine

My favorite for squirrel hunting is a TC with 22 LR match barrel and rynite stock/fore end. Put a Beeman R7 scope on it. That combo with Aguila 22 SSS 60 grain is pure dynamite for hunting. It'll put 10 shots at 50yds in a group that a dime will cover off the bench. The weight is great too, seems like carrying a feather even after hours of walking. Anybody else hunt with a similar setup?

Identical, as a matter of fact, except I used a 4x scope, IIRC a Weaver. Probably the best 22 I ever owned. Finances forced me to sell it, and I miss it greatly.

I have a 16.5" s/s 22LR match chambered barrel for my s/s rynite stocked T/C Contender carbine with a 4X Redfield scope.
I hunt grouse and rabbits with it, usually by making head shots out to 25 yards. I go for body shots if the target is further that that though.
Most accurate/favorite 22LR that I own.

That's a Beeman R66 scope on it, not what I said earlier. Just came in yesterday with 8 squirrels taken from 30-70+ yds. The nice thing about the 60gr Augila besides extreme accuracy is low noise. Not everyone likes it but in my 22's it seems magic. I zero for 50 yds and seems fine from 20 to 75. Glad to hear from others who like this set-up.

I used a 21" Match barrel in a Carbine set up with a Williams rear peep, and it was probably one of the handiest .22's I ever owned. It was extremely accurate, and I hate ever getting rid of it!
