Here in Missouri, SE Missouri, by this time , the corn is cut, the doves are pouring in , and the hunting is excellent. This year, Katrina came in and disrupted lives in Louisiana, Mississippi, and eventually for all of us. So I wont be selfish and complain about not alot of doves here this year. Corn, usually brings 2.50 to 2.80 a bushel. Here where it is Mississippi delta land, and all can be irrigated , yields approach 180 to 200 bushel per acre every year, if not better........this year, due to the grain always being stored and then barged down to New Orleans.....it has nowhere to go . Grain bins are charging an extra .50 cents per bushel as a "storage fee" SO....no corn is being cut, until someone addresses an issue that effectively takes 20% of your sale price out from under you . Long way around to get to hunting doves.....who'd a thunk it..

A Hurricane effecting dove hunting too........May God Bless the people in Louisiana and Mississippi...and thank all the workers and volunteers. !!!!!
