The annual long range matches for artillery hosted by Loomis' Battery on the Michigan National Guard base in Grayling Michigan will be held Saturday and Sunday this weekend (7/23-24). All artillery using full military loads, rifled at 1000 yd, smoothbore at 5-600 yd. Seige mortars at 900 yards (the earth MOVES!!!) Coehorns at 200(?) Free for spectators. Come on out and see why SIZE DOES MATTER!(on the target range, at least...)
Note: if traveling from the south, consider alternate routing avoiding I-75
I understand there is major construction on long stretches of it. M-127 is supposed to be a good alternative. Maybe check Mich. DOT website.
