father burned
« on: April 17, 2005, 04:35:36 AM »
I just thought I would write to make a prayer request. Yesterday while my father was fooling with a propane torch it blew up on him. Due to 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 18% of his body they transported to the burn center in Augusta Ga which is about 5hrs awayfrom Plains Ga. Since I can not travel back and forth I would like to know that those here were praying for him and ask God to comfort him in the times we are not there( and when we are) but I also ask that he will be with our family in this time its going to be tough I have a 16 mo lil girl and I hate to make her travel that far but I am not sure how I will deal with being  away from her. I know that god can help us through this and knowing this forum is praying for us will give us comfort.

My prayers will be with you and your father.  God will give you what you need as you seek Him.

Well just got off the phone and my father will be released from the burn center tommorow. They decided to cover his skin with a synthetic skin and let  him come home they were mostly 2nd degree burns so now the challange is to get him to relax and keep his wounds clean and dry. I think the journey has just begun. I thank all of you for your prayers but I ask that yall continue to pray for us he is an alcoholic and I think this brush of danger slowed him down long enough to let him reflect on his upbringin and remind him of who is in control. I hope that this will help him to realize who brought him through this and remind him how much easier it is when we allow God to lead us and that through him all things are pos.
Thanks again

Well update on my daddy. They released him from doctors care and he is resuming life as normal as he has had. I still pray for him daily that God will lay a burden on his heart and help him with his drinking. I would like to tell everyone here thank you for your prayers during this time. You cant have a testimony unless you have a test.
