Can't say that I blame you. You've spend considerable time, trying to get  this gun to work. I've done that with a few guns in my time. They've got to work, first time, every time!

Jeeze guys, I was dissapointed with the groups from my own 629. They are double what my Ruger will shoot and told S&W that on the phone.

I was pretty happy they said to just send it in and they would fix it, until I read this thread.

Maybe I better just live with it or get rid of it.

If you don't give them a chance to fix it, don't complain. And don't assume anything. I am sure they will get it fixed.  :D

Jack Ryan, I agree with Redhawk1's opinion, give Smith a chance. These circumstances (lemon S&W handgun) are truely rare, and most can be fixed to the customers satisfaction.

Hello everybody, This certainly has been a long running thread, I am certainly proud how everybody has been civil and informative.
 I feel I had a lemon, I had two local Smiths check it out, 1, the guy I bought it from. He chamfered the forcing cone and cleaned up the cylinder face. 2, he cleaned it checked it out and said it needed to go back to the factory for a bent crane and some timing work, back to the factory 2  times in less than 2 weeks, FACT is it should have never left the factory repair shop the first time. The second time it was much better, maybe great.
 The last time I took it out shooting, the cylinder would not open due to the extractor pin loosening up. No reason for it being loose, I kept a good eye on it, I tightened it with pliers ( used a good rubber belt and small pliers) so not to damage the pin!
 Fact is this this was not reliable for ccdw, I need something I can rely on. Not something to take to the range once in a while, or should be good for woods walking. I will take a reliable 45acp in the woods any day over a 44mag that might or might not go bang.
 I recieved alot of good info here, and lots of encouragment too. THANK YOU ALL,
 If you carry ccdw, IT MUST GO BANG 100% of the time.
