No, I don't make lure. I was given some lure 2 years ago after arguing with it's maker on another forum concerning lures. That lure maker was Stef Forget of Mirabell Quebec. The lure was Cachottier. I tried it on my line- setting 20% of my sets with it (and urine.). It was absolutely outproducing the other 80% of my line by a big margin. This was during one of the dnr programs, and the sets were relured with the same lure at each remake. I was so impressed, I had a fresh supply AIRMAILED to me from Canada. At the same time, Stef included his new coon lure to test on my line. I used that coon lure exclusively from Nov- Feb- and was very impressed. My main coon lure that I used was Hardcore- and this new stuff, ProCoon, was outproducing that- warm weather or cold.
I asked where I could buy it here in the states- and was told that I couldn't- that stef only had Canadian dealers. I liked the lure so much, that I decided to get into the supply business in a small way, and began importing his lure. I sent test lures out to trappers all around the US- telling them to so their best or worst with it. Results have been beyond our expectations- and those were high.
I consider stef a lure making genius- I seriously do. All of his lures are unique from any other lure out there- whether it be gland or call.
There are a lot of lures out there- some good, some bad. Of the good lures- a few rise to become outstanding lures. Stef's are in that catagory.
And no, they are not super, cure all lures- you still need to be on location with good well made sets. But these lures make the canines stay at a set- trying to get that smell. Frozen sets look like coyotes were having a party on the set.
They would be a good compliment to Asa lures. All-Call and Cachottier would be a very nice 1, 2 punch.
