Whats a good factory load for my Ultra Lite ?

I am lookng  personal defense .I will not be plinking with this load .

Try Speer Gold Dot 135grn. hollow points. They are +P and the bullet is designed to expand out of 2" barrels. The part number to look for is, 23921. This is a Speer PN so it will be on the box end flap. Do a Google search on these bullets and you should have lots of info. they are sold in boxes of 20 each, and are more expensive than Regular ammo. (not hugely so though) BUT if you want protection out of a 38+P these are some of the best. They are what I use, I don't feel personal protection is an area I'm going to try "on the cheap". If you get them 2 boxes would be prudent, that way you can try them out to see what they are and still have enough to have to get the job done..

It is not what you shoot; rather how you shoot.

Only hits count.

+P and +P+ serve no useful purpose in 2" barrel snub nose guns. They have 50% or more recoil & muzzle blast; with out any increased energy on target (into the perp). Because of this you have a longer "RETURN TO BATTERY"; (sights on target). (The new Speer® 135gr +P Gold Dot® is the exception to the rule as it was SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to for snub nose revolvers).

You will have better results overall with standard pressure 158gr JHP loads as are avilable form Aguila®, Hornady®, & MagTech®. Additionally remember that all 38 Special fixed sight revolvers are regulated at the factory to shoot POA with 158gr bullets.
