Lube Question

Morning All,
Can lube dry out and quit working? A lube I have been using for about 12/14 months has started allow fouling to build up in the muzzle area. I pan lube and I have no idea how many times the lube has been melted in the double boiler. mygila AKA My Mangum

I had some 54 cal Buffalo Bullets that sat in the gun cabinet for 4-5 years and the lube got hard and flaked off. I heated them on a pan in the oven to remove the rest of the old stuff and relubed with fresh SPG. You probably will see some reduction in performance with many melts.

HW, I think you're right on the melt question. I may have just melted it to many times. Bought some Lubrgard today, maybe that will renew this batch. mygila AKA My Mangum
