Wildcat question
« on: February 23, 2005, 02:37:42 PM »
I have a .45Colt/.410 NEF and would like to try making a 450Mongo round, but with 445sm brass instead (Starline).  Can anyone help with caseforming loads and working loads?  Thanks in advance......lost

i'm not familiar with the round you have in question. But it is my general thinking, if the new chamber won't fill and clean up the 410 chamber, it wouldn't be worth the investment.

The 450 mongo is a 444 Marlin case necked up to hold a .452 bullet.  This cartridge, I've read helps with the long jump from case to riffling in 45/410 chambered guns

For starting data I would use data for the same bullet weight your shooting in the .40 Mongo use .444 data and work up. You should use alittle more powder with the same weight bullet in the Mongo.
