the three pins that are on the frame above the trigger slide pretty freely on my gun.  enough to make me leary of losing them while hunting.  

 how are your guns?  do the pins slide back and forth with slight finger pressure?  or are they tight?

I never noticed it before but mine do too. But like Rugers there's not much way they can come out. A screw on the under side of the frame locks the large pin, and the others are probably locked in a similar fashion. Btw, I have a SBH Hunter I'd like to swap for a 44 mag 83. hehe.

like dad always said,  cant blame a guy for trying.. :wink:  

i have shot the 357 some more and it is a very accurate gun.  i plan on chasing some red squirrels with it in a week or two.  

good to know about the screw locking it in.  i will quit worrying.

The rear pin that is connected to the hammer rotates on my every time the hammer falls. This pin also works out slightly after extended shooting. I contacted FA about this and they said it's not a bad thing. The fit between the hammer and pin is tighter than the fit between the pin and the frame.

All of the pins are held in place by a screw or a spring.  If they come wholly out, something else is broken also.  If you are original owner, that is warranty repair.  No charge.  (but you will have to sleep alone for a few weeks!  :wink: )

If they are moving on you, they are not all gunked up!!   :grin:

just shifting from side to side.   i just wanted to make sure it was normal and didnt want to risk having them come out at the worst possible time.

Only things that have come loose for me on two model 83's and one model 97 were on one of the 83's--- the two screws which hold the grip frame started to back out slightly---was on a .454----hasn't happened on the others and none of the pins shift or rotate----maybe I need to put more rounds through them ! :shock: pg
